 is this a heavy bottomed pot? good for candy making?

  1. It is about 15 cm diameter. It is DIRTY WITH industrial oil when it came, I had to keep cleaning it (with dough and oil to keep rub the black oil out). I don't know if it is the price to buy a 'low' priced pot. It is made in Indonicia and it doesn't mark what type of the stainless it is. It does leave 'rainbow' hue, and the bar keeper's friend can remove it. It is about 7-8 cm tall. I am still 'content' to have a 'small pot' for cooking 2 bowls of rice from it, or 1 bowl of chili sauce/soup. It hosts 12 dumplings well, one portion of 'instant noodle' well, it also cook 1 bowl ginger soup well without spilling.  Revere Ware 2 Quart Saucepan
  2. I have had a set of light weight sauce pans since I married nearly forty years ago. There are heavier pans, but I've cooked potatoes and whipped them with a mixer for four decades. I think the heavier pans some reviewers are talking about were from a more expensive set than the one I received as a wedding gift, and of course, because they are light, I suppose they could be warped or bowed if the heat was too high and I've never had a gas top stove, so I can't speak to that.
